We talk about innovation and some of the systems we’ve built, including our idea for embedding Digital Assistants inside SaaS and all the products our company creates.

We’ve started Squirrly SML (Squirrly Machine Learning) as a Digital Assistant technology, which ran on separate servers than our other sites, APIs, etc.

We use a very distributed model at the Squirrly Company, so that many of our tools may get to access the various technologies (services) we created over the years.

After we created the Next SEO Goals, the Squirrly SML started being more than just a way to calculate (very accurately) the chances of ranking in the TOP 10 of Google Search. Until Next SEO Goals was released, it was just a service used inside Focus Pages. After the release of Next SEO Goals, it started influencing the Goals and the pieces of advice that it sends to users, based on many kinds of data.

Since it started being able to look at Ranking Factors in a very simillar way that Google itself does, we called it Ranking Vision AI. Because it’s the closest thing to having someone around you who can see how pages get ranked on Google search.

It identifies the smallest set of actions required [for SEO work] that brings the biggest positive modifications in terms of search ranking positions.

Our AI for SEO calculates your chances of ranking, based on billions of data points from over 600,000 websites over many years.

That data is then used to show best probabilities in the chances of ranking score and to inform which next SEO Goals you should be focusing on in order to reach the best results, with the least effort spent on SEO activities.

Adding a copy of OpenAI (like RM did) is not really building AI. And with tools like Nichess, Rytr, MarketMuse, and a few others (which I’m sure many of you have), I don’t think it should be our focus.

We will keep improving our own RankingVision AI.

A Quick History Of How We Started Our Machine Learning Service

When we first launched Focus Pages, it did know how to do this and it was awesome, because for two different pages on your site, it showed you two different aspects you should work on.

So what you had to do to Page A to get it ranked in TOP 10, was different than what you had to do to Page B to get it ranked in TOP 10.

And it was good. It helped our users find where they need to focus. However, the chances of ranking score was static, based on Red and Green elements that each focus page had.

Later on, we introduced the AI which calculated those chances of ranking the page NOT by Red or Green, but by how hundreds of thousands of sites (basically millions of pages) got ranked.

This allows Focus Pages to know based on your current site and the level of the current page, how much of a chance you stand right now of reaching TOP 10 in Google Search, based on data from all others.

So if you keep working on a page and the Chances of Ranking scores keeps being low even if you turn more Red elements into Green, then you either switch the keywords, or you work on a new page entirely.

And it will suggest that to you.

Of course, you can always spend big budgets on link building, social media signals and buying more ads that generate quality Health Traffic signals.

So you will be faced with three choices, but at least you will know based on solid data.

It’s the reason why so many users have become successful after we introduced the AI component.

And Next SEO Goals takes this one step further, because it gives you goals to achieve in a certain order that is 100% customized to your site and your particular case, based on chances of ranking evolutions for the focus pages you’ve placed inside.

The SEO Goals help you focus even better on changes you should make to the focus pages, in order to rank them higher.

Updates to Stacking:

Ever since 2017, when we shifted from Squirrly SEO 2016 to Squirrly SEO 2017, we removed all Unlimited Websites plans from our catalogues (except for clients who were already on those plans).

Of course, there were still agencies, freelancers, and bloggers with multiple projects (over 7) and they wanted more than the 7 sites offered by the classic PRO version.

The Agency plan for Squirrly SEO offered up to 50 sites, but for some clients that was too much of a stretch.

So, by the time we released Squirrly SEO 2018 (in April 2017), the concept of License Stacking was born.

Not exactly an innovation, since AppSumo (and all their software partners) were already offering stacking deals. The more packages you bought, the higher the account limits got.

This was a good thing for most of our users.

Until recently, our users bought multiple licenses under the same account in order to improve:

• maximum number of sites under the account.

Sadly, this was all it did, and we finally had time to give license stacking a well-deserved upgrade.

At the end of 2020, we’ve experimented with a new way of stacking subscriptions and licenses and we now go beyond just improving total number of sites under the account.

With stacked licenses, you can now get on PRO Plans (on top of the website limits):

• more keyword researches/account
• more focus pages/account

And on the Business Plans, by stacking multiple subscriptions (or even by stacking a PRO with a Business Plan) you get:

• more SERP Checker credits (upgraded from the initial 3,000 position checks/month)
• a lot more focus pages/account

See this image (below) for one of our accounts where we stacked 3x Business Plan subscriptions:

(14 sites already added to it, and about 3,000 SERP Checker credits already used this month; therefore, what’s written there is the remaining things for Jan 2021)

^^ As you can see this is a very solid plan for very active sites and multiple projects. Which could have never been covered by the basic Business Plan.

Now with the upgraded License stacking system, we got a lot more than just 21 total sites in the account.

So, depending on the plans you combine you can now increase:

• total websites / account
• total keyword research credits/account
• total number of focus pages/account
• total SERP Checker credits/account

In this short tutorial, we’re going to show you how to change an account that’s currently connected to Squirrly SEO. This may come in handy in situations such as:

• you’ve created a Squirrly SEO account using the wrong email address, want to disconnect it from Squirrly SEO and connect with the correct email address
• you want to change an old account used to connect to Squirrly with a new account

Let’s get to it!

Step 1: In your WordPress Admin Menu, open the Squirrly SEO plugin

From the left-hand menu in your WordPress dashboard, click on Squirrly SEO.

Step 2: Go to the Account section

Inside the Squirrly SEO plugin, click on Account.

Step 3: Disconnect the current account

In the Account section, click the Disconnect button. This will disconnect your site from the currently connected Squirrly account and from the Squirrly Cloud.

Step 4: Connect using the new account

After disconnecting, you’ll be prompted to connect Squirrly SEO again. Sign in with the correct email address (or the new account you want to use) to reconnect your site to the Squirrly Cloud.

Squirrly provides Schema for Local Business. Coordinates, hours, menus, etc. are available. You can learn more about this here.

Meta Data for GEO and Location – Especially helpful for Local SEO and Knowledge Graph

• Add Coordinates for Local SEO and add the address of your main location.

• This will be used for your Organization and for Publisher details within your WordPress site.

Schema for Local SEO can now be built directly from WordPress – Squirrly SEO– SEO Configuration– Rich Snippets.

For multiple locations, you can build the Schema using the Editor we give access to and the Custom Code option for Schema.

We’ve even added KML files recently so you can easily add your local business to Google Earth and our integration actually works.

Drew, one of our customers has a local business in Orlando, Florida and he made a video saying how he became successful with Squirrly SEO.

Due to the guidance that Squirrly SEO provides and the educational aspect of it, it’s easy for Non-SEO experts to really become visible on Google.

Squirrly is addressing them in Focus Pages already.

Page experience has been one of the main reasons we’ve created Focus Pages and it goes a little beyond just page speed and coding propriety. Time on page, bounce rates, number of pages visited are also very important and we’re getting clear signals that their importance is shifting.

We already address speed and https and give resources to our users, so they will be prepared for the update.

Because we get so much data from so many websites, our Chances of Ranking algorithms will get recalibrated with new data once the update fully goes live.

The probabilities will most probably shift to favour some of the ranking factors from this update.

The SERP Checker Cloud is a service that Squirrly developed to provide accurate ranking data inside the Focus Pages section and inside the Rankings section.

The SERP Cloud Checker is included in the Business Plan of Squirrly SEO .

You will still get access to the Rankings section, even if you don’t have the SERP Checker Cloud, but the ranking data will be taken from Google Search Console, which is not an exact position – it’s an average. Also, you can’t use it to check data for any kind of keyword whenever you want — you can only check keywords from within GSCs database for your site.

So, one of the benefits of getting a plan that includes the SERP Checker Cloud is this:

Ranking data will come from our Private SERP Checker Cloud Services and you will see exact positions for any keyword you want to check.

The SEO Live Assistant (SLA) and Focus Pages are two completely different features. Meaning: you get to build “search relevance” (and also enhance your content and your strategy) by using the SEO Live Assistant from Squirrly SEO. But that is just a sub-set of what needs to be done in order to rank your focus pages.

All your pages should be optimized using the SEO Live Assistant, but you shouldn’t place ALL your pages as Focus Pages inside Squirrly SEO. Let us tell you more:

Focus Pages analyzes a page’s chances of ranking by analyzing and providing feedback on over 113 ranking factors that Google also takes into account when deciding if it should rank a page on Google and on which position.

One of the things the Focus Pages system checks for is whether your page is optimized using the SEO Live Assistant (to ensure you have Search Relevance). But it also looks at things like:

• the keywords you are targeting,
• the competition for those keywords and their place inside your strategy,
• traffic health (how good and how well targeted is the traffic and do people spend time on the page?),
• whether you have backlinks for that page,
• whether you have inner links,
• and many other factors (again… over 113 factors) that impact your chances of ranking.

A team can influence the ranking factors for about 10 pages at a time. Getting traffic, social media shares, writing better and longer content, making sure visitors have a good experience on a page — all these take a lot of focus.

By influencing the ranking factors and turning those Red Dots to Green, you start ranking higher and improving the chances of ranking on the first page.

Once a page starts ranking in TOP 10 on Google, then you no longer need to focus on tweaking the page and you can just check its ranking from the Ranking Section of Squirrly, to make sure it stays in top 10.

And as an extra measure, also add that page to the SEO Audit section. From the SERP Checker and the SEO Audit, you’ll get to know how well your previous focus pages keep performing. But you won’t continue to actively invest in those pages, because those are already ranked high.

This frees up space for new pages you want to start ranking (new pages that you can set as Focus Pages).

You’ll start focusing on a new set of pages and you’ll increase the monthly organic visits to your site by ranking the new set of pages. Your previous focus pages will also keep bringing in traffic, so you’ll be compounding a lot of organic visits over time, while also working step by step and being able to focus your efforts.

Having a page set as Focus Pages doesn’t influence the SEO Live Assistant Score for that page.

Whether you have that page set as a Focus Page or not, the SEO Live Assistant will check for the same number of items.

For keyword research: To determine if a keyword is easy to rank for, we look at the TOP 10 positions in Google for that keyword and compare your web authority against theirs.
