Squirrly Open Graph and Twitter Card
[slideshare id=77295502&doc=squirrlyopengraphandtwittercard-170627100934]
OpenGraph Meta-tags were introduced by Facebook in 2010. Basically, what they do is they allow other websites to become rich “graph” objects, and to function as other Facebook objects. That way, you can share them on Facebook. So you can control how information travels from a website to Facebook when you share a page, like it etc. The information is sent via OpenGraph Meta tags in the <head> part of the website’s code.
Squirrly SEO will grab the data from your Page/Post content, and will build the Open Graph so that each social share will represent your article type.
Squirrly also works best with Twitter Card metas. After Twitter Card validation, each share will come with an article summary attached to it. This is the best way to attract more visitors to your site.
Go to https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/og/object to find if you have the correct Open Graph parameters set up.
To add the Facebook Admin ID follow the steps from

Your plugin is adding multiple OG:urls and other OG tags. How do I turn off one of them?
Hey,
Squirrly is not adding multiple OG:url but it happens to have multiple OG:url if the WP theme or other plugins are adding OG.
To prevent OG duplicates, switch off the OG from your theme or oter plugins. If you can’t find it, you can switch it of from Squirrly > SEO and let the WP theme to add them.
Hope this helps,
Calin
Is it possible to add video og:urls via this plugin?
Thank you.
Squirrly auto detects the embed videos and add them in the OG.
Give it a try

Calin
How do I set the og:image property?
Hey,
You can ether set a feature image for your post or add an image in Squirrly SEO Snippet when you edit the post.
Check the Squirrly SEO Snippet section for more details.

Calin
Calin,
If I want a specific og: image for my home page, is there a way to set that? Right now it just updates to my most recent blog post.
Hey,
Thank you for the feedback. It’s in the queue for the next upgrade.
Best regards,
Calin
How is it going? I have the same problem 😛
Hi Calin, has this feature been deployed? Thanks!
Yes, you can see this feature in Squirrly > SEO Settings.
You can also set the OG and TC for each page using Squirrly SEO Snippet on post/page editor
Calin
The feature is released and you can set the OG image in Squirrly > SEO Settings if you Switch On the Facebook Open Graph option.
Have a great week!

Is there a way to use the “summary-large” twitter card type? The one shown in the slide is just the plain “summary” type. Thanks!
Hi, We don’t have a demo for “summary_large_image” mode.
You can find some requirements here: https://dev.twitter.com/cards/types/summary-large-image

Hi, Squirrly helps you optimize the posts you’re writing and you can schedule the posts to be published in a future date.
please can you kindly make this option available in the next release. whether to use post keys or post tags as meta tags.
Hi – I was following some instructions on your site and went to the FB Open Object Debugger and have not the faintest clue how to fix the errors as I do not understand what they even mean. Any chance you can tell me what to do? https://cassowarycoastlife.com.au. I took a screen shot but can’t see a way to send it to you. I have 2 Red warnings:
“Object at URL https://cassowarycoastlife.com.au of type ‘article’ is invalid because the given value ‘en-au’ for property ‘og locale locale’ culd not be parsed as type ‘enum’ ” and
Based on raw tags …. org:url https://cassowarycoastlife.com.au. Any help would be very appreciated. Thanks
